Don't forget Gresch too, it's a damn shame Dolan ever had money to buy a New York team, he wants to win but he's just a terrible decision maker |

Love Gresch, but to me, he falls behind Park on the pecking order. |

Love the captain Vic Hatfield . Had a couple of good years with the pen but I didn't really have the hate for the pens until Mario came along |

I just think the era from 1978-87 needs to be represented by somebody in the rafters
that era the team went to finals once in 1979, went to the seminfinals twice (81 and 86) and won 10 total playoff series
it achieved as just much as the era with Giacomin, Gilbert and Ratelle did, but the only thing the organization ever does for this era is make them broadcasters |

I actually can't wait to read this
one of my things always is how the older generation tends to romanticize this particular era, but poops on the Sasson era and even the last 10 years because those teams didn't win it all.
The biggest one are the older generation fans who love Eddie Giacomin but get on Lundqvist's case because the Rangers haven't won the Cup |

I bridge a decent part of that era. As i wrote in my initial blog here, first recollection of watching hockey was the 1972 Stanley Cup Finals as a four-year old with my grandparents. Loved the '79 team and still hate that Bunny Larocque got hurt in warms ups or the Rangers might have won that series. The 1986 run to the Eastern Conference Finals, losing two games by a goal, including one in overtime, to Montreal. Then of course, the Cup in '94. |

If this Rangers team players a former player in the first round. or any round for that matter; said player will have their career week. Guaranteed. |
